TODAY: Welcome to Worship!  We welcome all who worship with us today.

Fellowship coffee is served downstairs at 9:00 a.m.

We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.

Missions/Outreach will meet at 5:00 p.m. today.

At 6:00 p.m. Faith CRC and First CRC will join us at our church for worship. Pastor Brad Meinders will be preaching on Psalm 42, “War of Words”.  There will be a social time after the evening service.  Everyone is welcome.

NEXT SUNDAY: At 6:00 p.m. we will join First CRC and Faith CRC at First CRC for worship.  Pastor Ryan Faber will preach on Psalm 91. The offering will be for the Food Shelf.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY: We extend our Christian sympathies to Shirley Van Hal on the death of her husband Gerrit Van Hal, a brother-in-law of Ruth Van Hal, on August 17.  May God comfort them with the hope of eternal life in Jesus our Lord.

MUSIC MINISTRY NOTES:

Adult Choir will practice weekly on Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m., beginning on September 5.  New Choir members are encouraged to join us

Children’s Choir (1st-6th graders) will practice on Wednesdays, beginning September 5.  See exact time in next week’s bulletin.

Praise Bands – Interested in singing or playing one of our Praise Bands?  See Barbara Boertje DeVries for opportunities!

ADULT CHOIR CHILD CARE continues to be a need!  Two ways for you to please consider helping if you will not be singing:  Volunteer to help in the nursery by signing up (sheet located on table in basement) and/or financially support hiring help from outside our congregation. PCHS VoAg/FFA Appreciation Dinner:  PCHS’s new VoAg/FFA program begins this fall!  As a thank you, they would invite those who have supported this effort financially to an Appreciation Supper at the high school at 6:00 p.m. on September 6.  You will be treated to supper, hear about the start of the program, and meet the students, instructor, and ag advisory committee.

PCGS Fall Fundraiser Event – Please come join us on Friday, September 7, at the Pella Sports Complex (just east of PCHS) from 5:00-9:30 p.m. for a night of fun, food, and fellowship.  Multiple activities will be taking place, including a middle school softball tournament, kickball for preschool through 5th grade, and other activities (laser tag, inflatables, and face painting).  Supper will be served at the concession stand along with snacks, pie and ice cream.  Donations will be accepted through the office leading up to the event or at the event itself, and all proceeds will go to Pella Christian Grade School.  Please bring a chair, and come be part of the fun!

The Gospel Singers Male Chorus is beginning their 49th year this season.  We are always looking for new members.  If you think that you might be interested, please join us for our first rehearsal on Saturday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m.  Our rehearsal will be held at First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa.

Registration deadline for the September 13 Bible League Volunteer retreat is August 31.  Sign up today to enjoy the fellowship with speial guests, includijng key note speaker, Sherri Sechrist.  Sherri is an accomplished business and conference speaker, worship leader, Bible Teacher, and aspiring servant of Christ.

You are invited to an open house at The Well to learn about all of the resources and new programs available to community members.  Tour different resource booths, and hear about The Well’s vision moving forward, as the Lord continues to serve His people through The Well!  We hope you can join us on September 13 between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. for light appetizers, and a brief program at 5:30 p.m. This is open to ANYONE interested in participating in a program, or learning more about the new programs being offered this fall.
