Fellowship coffee is served downstairs at 9:00 a.m.
Our Children’s Christmas Program will be part of the morning worship service.
We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.
There is no Church School today.
There will be a Council Chat following the morning service.
This evening we will have an abbreviated worship service at 4:00 p.m. before we go caroling. The congregation is encouraged to sit toward the front on the piano side. See details about caroling elsewhere in the bulletin.
NEXT SUNDAY: Worship services at 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
There will be no church school the next two Sundays. Classes resume on January 7.
OUR CHURCH FAMILY: Please pray for:
Dorell and Elizabeth Uitermarkt. Dorell has been moved to the Comfort House this past week.
Alice Zylstra continues to weaken. The family has agreed to shut off her pacemaker as it no longer appears to be working.
Edith Van Zee has been in Jefferson Place this week fighting off an intestinal virus. She hopes to return home soon and then be scheduled for hip replacement surgery.
Remember all our aged and shut-ins as they often long to be with their church family during this Christmas season.
We extend our Christian sympathy to the family of Frances Ver Heul who passed away on Thursday at the age of 102. Visitation will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Garden Chapel Funeral Home with the funeral following there at 11:00 a.m. We are thankful for the hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ
We wish a happy birthday to Gertrude Wassink who will celebrate her 95th birthday on December 19, and pray for God’s continued blessings.
MONDAY: Perk Up will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Happy Joes. All ladies are welcome.
The Shepherding Elders will meet at 6:30 p.m.
The Pella Christian Grade School Board will meet at 7:00 p.m. on December 18.
The Pella Christian High Board will meet on December 18 at 7:00 p.m.
WEDNESDAY: Adult Choir rehearsal from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
THANK YOU so much to everyone who has helped and supported us and the church school children. A special thanks to Paula Klyn for your wonderful accompaniment. Thank you to Daryl Van Zee and Jason Van Hal and the sound crew, to the children for their hard work, and to the parents and families, for practicing speaking parts and solos. Thank you to the church school teachers and parents for supervision and input during rehearsals. And, of course, thank you to all of you who came this morning to watch the program. We hope that you hear the good news and feel His great joy this Christmas season.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING/PIZZA: This evening we have the opportunity to go Christmas Caroling! Anyone interested should gather downstairs immediately following the “abbreviated” 4:00 p.m. evening service. After caroling, we will gather for pizza, Christmas cookie decorating, and fellowship in the Pella II lower level. For planning purposes, there is a sign-up sheet downstairs. WINTER ACCESSORIES NEEDED: For several years Pella 2 has gathered stocking hats, gloves and socks for families in need through Crossroads of Pella. Crossroads again has many families who need these items for winter. A bin has been placed downstairs for anyone who wishes to contribute to this cause. Additionally, if anyone has a need or knows of someone who needs any of these items, please feel free to take what is needed. This bin will remain downstairs until December 27. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Children’s Choir weekly rehearsals resume Wednesday, January 3, 6:30-6:55 p.m.
The 7th Annual Blood Drive in memory of Megan Hoogeveen will be held at Pella Christian High School on December 29 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Appointments are highly recommended to avoid wait times and to help in staffing the event. PCHS HEALTH CHALLENGE…NEW YEAR, NEW YOU: We encourage you to gain better fitness, AND your participation supports Winterim internships for PCHS students! Consider joining friends, co-workers, Bible study groups, and encourage one another to better health and fitness in 2018. Team kick-off/weigh-in is set for Saturday, January 10, at PPI in Pella.
PCHS FALL DRIVE: If you have not yet responded to the PCHS Annual Financial Drive please prayerfully consider giving a gift by December 31 and help to provide Christ-centered learning for our covenant young people. OSKALOOSA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is seeking qualified applicants for School Principal beginning with 2018-2019 school year. Details on the bulletin board downstairs.
JOB OPENING FOR NURSE MANAGER: Pathways of Pella is accepting applications for the position of Nurse Manager for their STD and Ultrasound program. This is a part-time (12 hours/week) position. Qualifications – R.N. with current license, and a heart for the ministry of Pathways of Pella. Previous experience in obstetrics and/or ultrasound preferred but not required.
