TODAY: Welcome to Worship!  We welcome all who worship with us today.

Fellowship coffee is served downstairs at 9:00 a.m.

We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.

Church School classes will meet from 10:50-11:35 a.m.

At 4:00 p.m. Pella I CRC will join us at our church for an abbreviated worship service followed by caroling.  See details in announcement below.

NEXT SUNDAY:  Our Children’s Christmas Program will be part of the morning worship service on December 16.  There will be no church school next Sunday.

Our annual candlelight service will be held next Sunday evening.

MONDAY:  Perk Up will not meet due to the Christmas luncheon on Tuesday.

TUESDAY:  Perk-Up Ladies – don’t forget the Christmas luncheon at noon at the Golf and Country Club.

The music department of the Pella Christian High School invites you to join them for an evening of music focused on the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the PCHS Vermeer Auditorium.  The concert will present the message of Christmas in word and song.  Please join us for an evening filled with the musical joy recognized as part of the Christmas season.

WEDNESDAY:  The Quilting Small Group will meet at 9:00 a.m. in the church basement. New members are welcome! Call Karen Spencer for more information.

Christian Fellowship Hour will meet at 1:30 p.m. to study Psalm 66.  We will have a Christmas potluck coffeetime.  All ladies are welcome and encouraged to join us.

Children’s Choir for December 16 Candlelight Service, 6:45-7:00 p.m.

GEMS will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Cadets will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Adult Choir rehearsal 7:00-8:30 p.m.

THURSDAY:  The Let’s Remember scrapbooking small group will meet in the church basement, 6:30-9:L30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  For more information contact Julie at 628-1303.

CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR MISSIONARIES:  It is the time of year to remember Pella II’s missionaries with Christmas cards.  Five collection boxes will be available in the church basement through today. No postage or envelopes are needed. Mission Outreach will handle the mailing.  Missionaries often tell us that they enjoy getting cards from Pella II.  Please show them your support with a card.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING/PIZZA:  This evening we have the opportunity to go Christmas Caroling along with members of Pella I CRC!  Anyone interested should gather downstairs immediately following the “abbreviated” 4:00 p.m. combined evening service with Pella I CRC held at our church.  After caroling, we will gather for pizza, Christmas cookie decorating, and fellowship in the Pella II lower level. For planning purposes, there is a sign-up sheet downstairs. The food costs will be divided among the participants.  Any questions, contact Glenda Van Woerkom.

YEAR END GIVING:  Christmas Day will be the last opportunity to contribute for 2018. – The Deacons

PLEDGE UPDATE:  As of the end of November, $150,000 of $393,000 (38%) has been received for 2018 pledging.  This brings our building cash on hand to $511,000, not including the building sale.  We have also received communication of several large gifts to arrive in December.  If you have questions regarding your pledge, please contact Jerry Uitermarkt, Joe Van Haaften, Brent Pierson or Corey Magnussen.

BLUE CHRISTMAS:  A Blue Christmas community service of remembrance and hope for those dealing with grief during the holiday season will be held next Sunday, December 16, at First Baptist Church — 3:00 p.m. for pie, and 3:30 p.m. for worship.  You are welcome at this joint service.

DESSERT WITH THE BRADFORDS:  We invite our new church family to have coffee and dessert with us at the parsonage in order to get to know everyone better and to hear your hopes and dreams for Pella 2. There is one “Dessert with the Bradfords” gathering scheduled yet this fall —Thursday evening, December 13 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Middle and High School youths are also welcome to join us.  Please sign up in the narthex or downstairs or email secretary@pella2crc.org.  If you need a ride, contact Ruth at the church office and it will be arranged.  Please sign up today. Save the date!  Faith Formation will have their next Connections event on January 12 at Faith CRC.  The theme will be how intentional Intergenerational Ministry can be a blessing and catalyst for growth for all the different age groups found in our congregations.  More details later.
