TODAY: Welcome to Worship!  We welcome all who worship with us today.

Fellowship coffee is served downstairs at 9:00 a.m.

A few young instrumentalists from our congregation had practiced diligently to perform at a Fine Arts Night last Monday evening at Pella Christian Grade School, but since it was cancelled (due to the weather), we have encouraged them to share their music with us.  Kaden and Kirby Van Wyngarden and Rob Schreur performed at the Valentine’s Day Potluck that Pastor Paul and Tammy hosted, and all of you are invited to stay in the sanctuary right after the Postlude this morning to hear solos by Ryley Hoekstra, Carson Tukker, and Alexis Vos.  If possible, please stay to listen and encourage these young performers as they share their God-given talents with us.  There will hopefully be a few minutes afterwards (before Sunday School, and before the 11:00 Council Chat) to enjoy some refreshments downstairs.

We invite visitors and members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs after the morning worship service and after the youth instrumental performance.

Church School classes will meet from 10:50-11:35 a.m.

High School class will NOT meet today.

There will be a Council Chat at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.

At 6:00 p.m. we will join First CRC at First CRC for worship.  Pastor Brad Meinders will preach.

NEXT SUNDAY:  At 6:00 p.m. First CRC will join us at our church for worship. Pastor Paul Bradford will preach on 1 Peter 2:18-25.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY: We wish a happy birthday to Lawrence Vander Molen who will celebrate his 86th birthday on February 24 and to Mildred Van Maanen who will celebrate her 94th birthday on February 24, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

“Lawrence and Mary Ann Vander Molen want to thank their church family for the many expressions of sympathy we received at the death of Mary Ann’s sister, Sylvia Bruxvoort.  She is now with her Lord in Glory. Alleluia!”

“My sincere thanks to my Pella II family for the visits, cards, phone calls, memorial gifts and words of comfort at the time of our son’s death.  I will always cherish them.” – Joann Verhey

CRC NEWS AND PRAYER ITEMS

GROUNDWORK:  The Gift of Mercy – God commands us to be merciful, just as He is merciful to us.  So why does Paul list mercy as a spiritual gift?  Join Groundwork as we explore Romans 12:4-8, 17-21, Matthew 9:10-13, and Luke 6:36-38 to discover what it means for all believers to show mercy and why it also qualifies as a spiritual gift. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com.

KIDS CORNER: I’ve Got a Secret – When is it important to keep a secret and when is it important to tell it?  Liz and Lucille learn how to tell the two types of secrets apart.  Listen now at kidscorner.net and subscribe to KC’s weekly emails for future episodes.  Download KC’s Lent 2019 devotionals to lead your family’s Bible study as you prepare for Easter.

FAMILY FAITH FORMATION TIP  – Doubts aren’t a sign of weak faith — they’re evidence that people are wrestling with big questions.  Create an atmosphere in your home that invites kids to ask questions, express doubts, and think and feel their way into the big questions of life.  “What do you think about that?” is a very affirming question, no matter what your age is. (Faith Formation Ministries; crcna.org/FaithFormation)

PRAY FOR INSPIRE 2019 – Inspire 2019 is a conference to connect people from across the 1000+ churches in the Christian Reformed Church for three days of worship, workshops, speakers, and conversation.  As we plan and prepare for this event, happening August 1-3 in Windsor, Ont., please join us in praying for the event and all who will attend.  This week, please pray for all of the workshop leaders and break-out session facilitators and those who will attend these times of conversation and learning.  Pray that these sessions will inspire, equip, and make a positive impact on individuals and churches.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS SUMMER!  You can make a difference in the life of a young person in Hungary this summer!  Resonate partners Rev. Janos and Momo Victor are inviting college-aged students from Canada and the United States to help lead two week-long evangelistic English camps.  You’ll need a love for kids, a sense of adventure, and a desire to serve God!  Learn more and apply at resonateglobalmission.org/summercamp.
