TODAY: Welcome to Worship!  We welcome all who worship with us today.

Fellowship coffee is served downstairs at 9:00 a.m.

This morning we look forward to partaking of the Lord’s Supper.  We joyfully anticipate receiving the benefits of Christ’s salvation as we receive the bread and cup in faith.  If you have put your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and are seeking to faithfully follow him, you are welcome to join us at the table.

This morning our offering is for the Crossroads Prison Ministries.  Four of our Pella 2 members are mentors, who review the prisoners’ lessons and write them a letter of encouragement.  Many more are needed.  If this sounds like a ministry you would like to be involved in, please contact Kathleen De Haan.  Phone 628-1739 or email dehaanka@gmail.com and she will get you some information.  You will be blessed!

We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.

Church School Classes will meet from 10:50-11:35.

At 6:00 p.m. we will join Connect Church, Faith CRC and Calvary CRC at Calvary CRC for worship. Pastor Brad Bierma will preach on the book of Deuteronomy.

NEXT SUNDAY:  At 6:00 p.m. we will join Connect Church, Faith CRC and Calvary CRC at Calvary CRC for worship.  Pastor Dale Slings will preach on the book of Joshua.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathies to Steve and Kim Roose on the death of Kim’s brother, Mike Van Weelden, on January 27, and to Arie Boot on the death of his sister-in-law, Angeline Van Den Berg, on January 23.  We rejoice in the hope of everlasting life in Jesus Christ.

We wish a happy birthday to John Van Woerkom who will celebrate his 89th birthday on February 8, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

New address:  Sylvia Langstraat has moved to Vriendschap Village, 2604 Fifield Road, 303-A, Pella.  Her phone number remains the same.

MONDAY:  Perk-Up will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Happy Joes.  All ladies are welcome.

Adult Choir Rehearsal, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

LIFE GROUP UPDATE:  Due to scheduling conflicts we are postponing the launch of our new Life Group until Sunday, February 16.  The group will meet from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Bradford’s home (603 Union Street).  We still have room for a couple more people.  The sign-up sheets are in the lobby and the Fellowship Hall.  Life Groups are small groups of around 8-12 people that faithfully meet together to share life, study God’s Word, support one another, and serve others.  They give us a place to connect and a time when we can encourage one another and grow deeper in our walk with the Lord.

OFFERING:  Our offering today will go to “Crossroads Prison Ministries”.  Our offering February 9 will go to “Office of Social Justice”.  Loose change and undesignated checks go towards the mission or organization of the week.  If you desire to contribute to Second Christian Reformed Church and its ministries, simply write “Pella 2” on the memo line of your check. You can also give online by going online to pella2crc.breezechms.com/give/online.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR DIRECTORY LISTING?   If  changes need to be made in your listing in the church directory, they can be written either in a directory placed on the table in the narthex or downstairs, OR in the online directory.  You can also call the church office (628-2966) or email secretary@pella2crc.org. For those who have access to the online directory, the information listed there is what will be used in the paper directory. Please makes necessary changes by February 4.

THANK YOU FROM MANOR RESIDENTS:  (The Manor residents needed to leave their homes for several days due to heating system problems.)  “The ‘exiled’ are back home – we started arriving around 10:00 a.m. and the last of our people came in about mid-afternoon (this past Thursday)!  All are well, very happy to be back and now we’re busy unpacking and doing laundry.  Most of us aren’t wild about living out of suitcases for a couple weeks – but – we were very well taken care of and all are very grateful!

“We had a nice, and much appreciated, surprise when we came home and found ‘welcome home’ packages on each of our doors from Pella II!  What a thoughtful thing to do — our teenagers would say ‘Pella II, you rock’ – we oldsters say ‘that’s the Pella II we know and love’.  I’m certain I’m speaking for everyone when I say, ‘Thank You so much’ for not only the welcome home packages but your thoughts and prayers for us all these last couple weeks.  Once again, proof that ‘God is Good – All the Time’!” – Anne Bokhoven on behalf of all our Manor residents

PCHS & PCGS INTEGRATION:  Pella Christian High School and Pella Christian Grade School are working on integration activities to strengthen and sustain the historic, distinctively Christ-centered mission of Christian schooling in this area.  Weekly briefings are archived near the bottom of the home page of the PCHS website in the “Integration Briefings” (www.pceagles.org).

818 FORWARD WITH FAITH’S 3rd Annual Dessert Dash is this Friday, February 7, at Sun Valley Barn in Pella.
