At 6:00 p.m. we will join First CRC at First CRC for worship.  Pastor Brad Meinders will preach on 1 Peter 2:11-17, The Submissive Life is the Good Life.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathies to Lawrence and Mary Ann Vander Molen on the death of Mary Ann’s sister, Sylvia Bruxvoort, on January 29.  May God comfort them with the hope of eternal life in Jesus our Lord.

We wish a happy birthday to John Van Woerkom who will celebrate his 88th birthday on February 8, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

FRIDAY: The Second Friday of the Month organ recital by Davis Folkerts, that was scheduled to be held in our church, has been canceled as he recovers from surgery. He now plans to reschedule on March 8.

Pella II Ladies Retreat Friday, February 8 – Saturday, February 9.  The sign-up sheet is located downstairs on the table.  Limited space available so check your calendars and sign up if interested!  If a little fun, food, and spiritual growth sounds inviting, join us!

SATURDAY: Classis Central Plains will meet at our church at 8:00 a.m.

C4C LEADER SIGN-UP:  There is a sign-up sheet downstairs for those who would like to lead or help with C4C throughout the year.  There is very little prep involved, and anyone, middle school age or older is welcome to take a turn!

CADET DERBY RACE CARS:  If anyone is interested in building a pinewood derby car for the Cadet derby races on March 6, please see Shane Tukker.  Free car kits are available on a first-come basis.  All cars must weigh 5 ounces or less.

FREEDOM HOUSE MINISTRIES will host a gala on Thursday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m. at Central College Graham Conference Center to raise funds to support a home for girls who have been victims of sex trafficking.  You are invited for dinner and to hear nationally known speaker and author Gary Thomas.  Tickets ($25) are available until February 3 at the Sanctuary (check or cash) or at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/freedom-house-gala-tickets-51812260867.  With questions, please contact freedomhouse17@gmail.com.

MARRIAGE CONFERENCE:  Federated Fellowship Church will host the XO Marriage Conference on Friday, February 8, 7:00-9:30 p.m. (a light dinner provided at 6:30) and Saturday, February 9, 9:00-11:30 a.m.  XO Conference is a two-day experience that provides expert marriage advice and practical teachings to help couples navigate their marriage journey.  We invite anyone to come whether married, dating, single, etc.  The cost is $30 per couple/$15 per person.  Childcare is provided.  Please register by Sunday, February 3 at federatedfellowship.org.  Learn about the conference at xomarriage.com.

Faith CRC Outreach Ministry invites you to their annual Pulled Pork Supper on Wednesday, February 20, serving 5:00-7:00 p.m.  The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green beans, applesauce and a variety of homemade desserts.  Free-will offering.

Pella Christian Grade School will have their Winter Bash fundraiser on Friday, February 22.  We will be entertained by FamBlitz which is an exceptional, out-of-the-ordinary, show.  The doors open at 4:30 p.m. for a silent auction and gift certificate booth.  Supper will be served from 5:00-6:30 p.m.  The entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m.  Please join us at PCGS on February 22 for this fun, Christian, family-oriented event!

One-to-One Bible Reading:  You are invited to join together in diving into God’s Word as a Classis.  Classis Mission Committee is hosting a book discussion on Saturday morning, March 2 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running no later than 12:00 p.m., at Calvary CRC in Pella.  The book we will be discussing is “One-to-One Bible Reading” by David Helm.  We will be brainstorming about how best to utilize it in our given congregations and hearing if churches have already used it and what worked.  Classis Mission Committee is excited about the work God is doing in each of the congregations in Classis Central Plains.  Questions – please contact Pastor Matt McClure at revmcclure@gmail.com.

FROM OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:  Thanks so much for donating to OCC shoeboxes.  Pella’s total was 1,683.  They were sent to Mexico, Togo and Haiti.  The overall total was 8,801,607.  May God richly bless you.
