OFFERINGSJuly 26:  With Love Toy Ministry

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathy to Sylvia Langstraat, Marion and Glenda Klyn, Sid and Mary Klyn and Les and Linda Klyn on the death of their sister-in-law, Valda Klyn on July 12, and to the family of Alberta De Jong, who passed away on July 12.  We rejoice in the hope of everlasting life in Jesus Christ.

BABY GIFTS:  There is a table located in the entryway for anyone who wishes to bring a baby gift to welcome Mason Garrett, son of Jacob and Regina Vaverka, born June 16. This table will be available through July 26.  There is also a table in the entryway for anyone who wishes to bring a baby gift to welcome Elsie Marie, daughter of Zach and Stacia Veenstra, born July 4,  and for Theo Jay, son of Will and Taylor Vande Voort.  This table will be available through August 9. – Sponsored by the Quilting Small Group

SUMMER MUSIC MINISTRY:  Even in the absence of Choir, anyone comfortable singing or playing a solo and/or in a small (“socially distanced”) group is encouraged to let Barbara Boertje DeVries know.  We are a “Psalm 150 People”, a congregation to whom God has generously given many musical talents, so let’s continue the theme: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” – Praise the Lord!

OFFERING:   Our offering today will go to the “Pella Food Shelf”.  Our offering July 26 will go to the “With Love Toy Ministry”.   Loose change and undesignated checks go towards the mission or organization of the week.  If you desire to contribute to Second Christian Reformed Church and its ministries, simply write QR Code“Pella 2” on the memo line of your check. You can also give online by scanning the QR code to the right or by going online to pella2crc.breezechms.com/give/online.

SUPPORT PC BY ENJOYING SWEET CORN:  Little Eagle, a financial supporter of Pella Christian Schools, will be selling sweet corn for a free will donation.  Sales are anticipated on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 21 to August 6, dependent on crop supply and field conditions.  Sweet corn can be picked up at the Pella Christian Grade School Parking Lot on the corner of Hazel and Franklin Street beginning around noon until supply runs out.  No pre-orders are needed for pick-up at PCGS.  Those wanting bulk orders (5 dozen or more) can pre-order and receive delivery by a Pella Christian Football Player within Pella City Limits.  Pre-order your bulk sweet corn at this link:  https://forms.gle/ve62uifapLDcBUcM6

IT’S BLUEBERRY TIME!  Fresh, delicious, straight-from-Michigan blueberries are being sold by Lake View Camp as a fundraiser for their summer camping ministry. The blueberries will be delivered to Pella on Saturday, July 25 (orders due July 20).  The order form is on the table in the narthex, on the camp’s website, www.lakeviewconference.com, or  you can call 641-628-2160.

CARY CHRISTIAN CENTER NEEDS OUR HELP!  There are two semi loads of items that need to be taken to Cary to sell in the Treasure Chest thrift store.  We need semi tractors and drivers who would be willing to drive these trailers.  If you or someone you know would be willing to help, please contact Don DeWaard at 780-1426.  The profits from the thrift store are used to support the programs at the Center and provides jobs for people in Mississippi.

CRC NEWS AND PRAYER ITEMS

GROUNDWORK: Justice and Righteousness – It seems that on earth, justice cannot keep up with evil and corruption.  Study Micah 6:8 and Romans 3:21-22 with us to see why righteousness is intricately connected to justice in God’s eyes and learn what this means for how we live faithfully as followers of Jesus Christ.  Listen at GroundworkOnline.com.

KIDS CORNER:  Black Cats and Sidewalk Cracks – Liz gets caught up in superstitions.  Can he trust God to take care of him instead?  Listen at kidscorner.net.  Download the KC Sketchbook and draw and color your favorite Kids Corner characters (https://kidscorner.net/activities).

AT-HOME FAITH FORMATION:  In the book Liturgy of the Ordinary, Tish Warren writes, “As Christians, we wake each morning as those who are baptized.  We are united with Christ and the approval of the Father is spoken over us.  We are marked from our first waking moment by an identity that is given to us by grace: an identity that is deeper and more real than any other identity we will don that day.”  How might you live out that truth this week?
