REMINDER FROM FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE:

Please return pledges by June 17, 2018.

  • All members being asked to repledge. Past gifts/pledges are appreciated, but if you have not returned a 2018 Pledge Form, your pledge is noted as $0 currently.
  • Please note name or offering box number on pledge.
  • Committee will be contacting all members without pledges for feedback.
  • Please designate all pledge gifts by writing “pledge” on memo line or offering envelope.

CHURCH NOTIFICATION SYSTEM:  If you would like to be added to the One Call Now church notification system, there are forms on the tables in the narthex and downstairs.  This is the system we use to notify members of prayer concerns, cancellations or other important information about church.  Please fill out a form to be added to the system, or if you want to change the way you receive information — phone call, email and/or text message.  If you are currently receiving the messages you don’t need to fill out a form.

ANGEL TREE NOTE:  Angel Tree Camp will be in Pella from June 25-29.  We will be helping with crafts three mornings, and will serve breakfast and supper on Thursday, the 28th.  Help is needed for crafts and meals.  Sign-up sheets are on the table downstairs.  Your help will be appreciated!

FILL UP THE SHELF– 1000 CAN DRIVE:  The Pella Food Shelf located at “The Well” has been very low on soup (and most food) for the past several weeks. I had this feeling that I was to do something about this shortage.  I know that summer is a time that the food shelf often runs low on food because there aren’t many food drives in the spring and summer.  It’s still a big need when kids are out of school and some parents and families need more assistance.

I have this goal of getting 1000 cans of soup, SpaghettiOs, Ravioli, Spaghetti & Meatballs, or Manwich donated to the Pella Food Shelf and I wonder if you would help me. The average can of soup costs about $1.75 so for under $20.00 you could help provide 10 meals for those in need. I’m hoping I can get 100 people to help me with 10 cans of something, but please don’t stop at 10; we can all give as to how we have been blessed.

I want to do this ASAP so I’m giving us one week to get it done. If you wish to participate, please have your donation back to church by Sunday morning, June 10.

Thanks in advance!

My only request is, don’t buy something that you wouldn’t eat.

Brent Pierson / 641-780-3456

John 4: 7-8:

7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

Now, go and be a disciple.

REMINDER:  Brenda and Taryn Hugen will be headed back to Sierra Leone, Africa, in one week to work with children at an orphanage. If you wish to donate items for this trip, the list that was in last week’s bulletin is on the tables in the narthex and downstairs.  Please have the items at church no later than this Thursday, June 14.
