THE P.E.T. FUNDRAISING SUPPER AND AUCTION will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at Pella Christian High School. The supper, including roast beef, chicken and cheesy potatoes, will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the auction following at 6:30. Please sign up for auction donations on the sheet in the basement. Remember, we are looking for food, services, and events. There is also a sign-up sheet for volunteers for serving supper and cleanup. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to come for a fun evening.

MUSICIANS OF ALL AGES: Special solo/ensemble pieces that have been played in worship recently were prepared for PCGS Fine Arts Nights last month and earlier this month. We are grateful that some of our talented young people have been willing to share their instrumental talents with us, and encourage instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages to use their musical gifts in worship to glorify God. EASTER LILIES: If you would like to purchase an Easter lily to honor or remember someone special this Easter, please fill out an order form downstairs or in the narthex. Due to a shortage of lilies this year, our order must be in by tomorrow (March 12) so please fill out the form today (March 11). The cost is $6.35 for each plant. Payment can be made one of the next two Sundays and put in the envelope provided.  You may take the lily home after the Easter service.

WEDNESDAY PM CHILD CARE: If you are willing to provide child care in the church nursery on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in March or April, please contact Glenda Van Woerkom, or 641-628-1979.

MISSION TRIP OFFERING: The Deacons have approved the collection of funds for the Majestic Outdoor Adventures Mission Project in Dora, Missouri, with the following guidelines. Please place donations in a separate envelope, including giving number and labeled “Mission Project”. Make checks payable to Second CRC, with “Mission Project” in the memo line. Donations will be accepted through March 25 and tracked for year-end receipt.

BABY GIFTS: A table is located downstairs for anyone who wishes to bring a baby gift to welcome Rhett Joseph, son of Levi and April Nieuwsma, born on February 10, and to welcome Addilyn Grace, daughter of Jacob and Regina Vaverka, born on February 20. – Sponsored by the Quilting Small Group

TOUR OF PCGS BUILDING PROJECT: A tour of the new addition is being offered to our church members on Saturday, March 24, at 9:00 a.m. Watch the March 18 bulletin for final details. The March 25 offering will be going to help meet the Phase 3 fundraising goals as referenced in the latest PCGS FOCUS Newsletter.

Spring and Summer Sports Parents: Parents with students participating in spring or summer sports at Pella Christian High School are strongly encouraged to attend a meeting Tuesday, March 20, at 6:15 p.m. in the music room. Athletic Director, Dan Branderhorst and the coaches will discuss details and expectations.

Middle School Concert: Pella Christian Grade School would like to invite you to attend the fifth-eighth grade spring band concert on Thursday, March 22, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Pella Christian Grade School gym. This will be the debut performance for the fifth grade band that has been working hard on four challenging selections. The 6th/7th and 8th graders are also excelling on various selections, including “High Voltage” and “As the Eagle Flies”. Join us for a great evening of music.

Spring Drama Production: Pella Christian High School will end their successful theatre season this spring with The Crucible, a powerful drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Written by American playwright Arthur Miller, it is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. Under the direction of Van Peursem, The Crucible will be presented Friday and Saturday, March 23-24. Tickets are now on sale.

Cadet-O-Rama will be held on March 24 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Vermeer Pavilion. A display of Cadet projects, pinewood derby car races, carnival games, mini-golf tournament, delicious food, prizes and awards. Additional information is posted on the bulletin board downstairs. Treat your family to a great morning and support the Cadets of Hawkeye Council.

Gene Van Wyk Memorial Run: Mark your calendars! Join the fun and be part of the 11th annual Gene Van Wyk 5k Run, March 31. All proceeds from the run go towards the Gene Van Wyk Memorial Fund and the Gene Van Wyk Weight Room at Pella Christian High School. Registration costs are $15 for students, $20 for adults, and $70 for families if you register by March 19. Fees increase by $5 per event after March 19. A Grand Day: Grandparents and special friends are asked to save the date of Friday, April 20, to come to Pella Christian Grade School for A Grand Day! Celebration. The morning will begin with a student-led chapel of praise and worship. The students in grades K-2 will be sharing a few of their favorite songs with you too! After the chapel program you will have time to visit the classrooms before we dismiss at 11:35 a.m. We hope you will join us for “A Grand Day!”

Spring Musical: The evening before A Grand Day, April 19 at 6:30 p.m., you will not want to miss the 3rd-5th grade one-time performance of the musical “Malice in the Palace: The Story of Esther” by Tom S. Long and Allen Pote. The story of Esther is exciting and you will hear a powerful message that even the smallest person acting bravely can make an enormous difference, for God has placed us where we are for a reason. PCHS AG EDUCATION/FFA PROGRAM: Pella Christian High is excited to announce the beginning of an Ag Education program beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. Plans are being made to choose curriculum, find an instructor, and to raise initial funds for the program. A letter is in your mailbox today regarding fundraising for this program. We covet both your prayers and gifts as we begin this program.

PCGS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES: Pella Christian Grade School has the following openings to begin with the 2018-19 school year: Transportation Director – part-time; Janitor – three hours mornings or evenings; One-on-One Aide – for lower elementary student; Food Service Worker – part-time Monday-Thursday.  Job descriptions and more details are posted on the bulletin board downstairs. TRANSFORM: The Well is launching the first annual Transform event on May 11 and 12. Transform is a two-day event bringing together servant-hearted volunteers to knock out several homeowner and community service projects. The Well is currently looking for volunteers, project leaders, and projects to complete in and around the Pella area such as construction projects, demolition, painting, landscaping, trash pickup, moving assistance, and more!
