Church School will meet from 10:50-11:35. There will be no Church School the next two weeks for spring break.

Prayer Time – in the north tower room at 10:50. A group of us feel burdened to pray for our church and for each other. Please join us! If you would like someone to pray for you, please come, or put your request in the box on the back table. God hears and answers our prayers.

Come join the Cadets and GEMS on March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the PCGS gym for our annual Pinewood Derby races. Everyone is welcome to race in our open class; even with an old car. The only requirement is that the car weighs less than 5 ounces. Even if you don’t want to race, come join us for ice cream after the races!

SENIOR CITIZENS: The kids from our Youth Group will be playing games with our senior members in the West Social Room at Pella Manor this Wednesday, March 7, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. We’d love to have you join us if you live in the Manor or Fair Haven, and even if you don’t! All are welcome!

MISSION TRIP OFFERING: The Deacons have approved the collection of funds for the Majestic Outdoor Adventures Mission Project in Dora, Missouri, with the following guidelines. Please place donations in a separate envelope, including giving number and labeled “Mission Project”. Make checks payable to Second CRC, with “Mission Project” in the memo line. Donations will be accepted through March 25 and tracked for year-end receipt.

SCHOOL MEETINGS THIS WEEK:

Kindergarten Parent Information Night for parents to learn more about our Christ-centered Kindergarten in both English and Spanish programs and curriculum will be held Tuesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the Pella Christian Grade School Music Room.

Parent Preview Night: Pella Christian High School invites all parents of 8th graders to the annual Parent Preview Night to be held Tuesday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Information about high school (academics, extra-curriculars, costs, financial aid, etc.) will be shared. Refreshments and a time of fellowship and tours of the building will follow the meeting. Anyone who knows of a family considering PCHS (for any HS-aged student) is encouraged to personally invite them to this meeting.

Peoria Christian School will hold Kindergarten Round-Up on March 7 from 8:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please contact Peoria Christian School’s office with the names of any child who is interested in attending. We would like to send them a personal invitation.

ADVANCE NOTICES:

The P.E.T. Fundraising Supper and Auction will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at Pella Christian High School. The supper, including roast beef, chicken and cheesy potatoes, will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the auction following at 6:30. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to come for a fun evening.

Spring Drama Production: Pella Christian High School will end their successful theatre season this spring with The Crucible, a powerful drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. Written by American playwright Arthur Miller, it is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. Under the direction of Van Peursem, The Crucible will be presented Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, with tickets going on sale March 5.

Cadet-O-Rama will be held on March 24 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Vermeer Pavilion. Treat your family to a great morning and support the Cadets of Hawkeye Council.

The Spring Salad Luncheon for the Bible League will be held on Monday, March 26, 12 noon, at Covenant Reformed Church located at 2805 Fifield Road. With the current focus on Bringing God’s Word to Latin America, Don Vos and Frank Reitsma will enlighten us about Nicaragua through their “Farmer to Farmer” experiences over many years. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend, including men who would also be truly blessed. A freewill offering will be taken for the Bible League.

LAKE VIEW CAMP: Making plans for summer? Don’t forget about CAMP! Lake View Camp has camps for all ages – day camps, overnight camps, service camps, and grandparent/grandchild camps. PCHS AG EDUCATION/FFA PROGRAM: Pella Christian High is excited to announce the beginning of an Ag Education program beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. Plans are being made to choose curriculum, find an instructor, and to raise initial funds for the program. We cover both your prayers and gifts as we begin this program.

DUTCH LETTERS: Peoria Christian School Circle is once again selling delicious homemade Dutch Letters. These are perfect for Easter, Tulip Time and Mother’s Day! Order forms are available at the school office or by contacting Michelle De Haan. The cost is $48 for a dozen (12), $25 for ½ dozen (6) and individual letters are $4.25. All orders are due by Monday, March 5. The Dutch Letters will be made on Saturday, March 17 (starting at 8) and all orders must be picked up that afternoon from either the school gym or Lisa Vermeer’s home in Pella.
