Pella II CRC Announcements for May 10, 2020

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathy to Debbie Nelson and her family on the death of her husband, Tim, on May 5.  May God comfort them with the hope of eternal life in Jesus our Lord.

We wish a happy birthday to Bill Stursma who will celebrate his 91st birthday on May 15, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

MAY WORSHIP SERVICES:  Worship for May 10 will continue to be via recorded services online.  We are currently preparing for May 17 to be the first Sunday of in-person worship.  However, the health and safety of the congregation and community remain of utmost concern.  Marion County officials and the CDC have issued guidelines for public worship.  We are also in contact with other Pella area churches, and are monitoring public health developments.  Information from all of these sources is being taken into consideration in determining how and when Pella II will resume in-person worship.  When in-person worship re-opens, please expect changes before, during, and after the service in order to comply with current health and safety guidelines.  Advance communication will be sent regarding the safety measures being taken and the changes that those who choose to attend worship can expect.  We look forward to worshiping together in a manner that seeks to protect the health of the congregation and community.  We will keep the congregation informed via email and One Call on the plans for re-opening in-person worship. – Pella II Governing Board

OPPORTUNITIES TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT PELLA II FINANCIALLY:

PELLA CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL is in need of a part-time Study Skills Teacher assistant.  This applicant should be someone who is organized, resourceful, and caring.  Duties include meeting the needs of students with learning difficulties, collaborating with teachers to make accommodations, and working with parents to help students in the Study Skills classroom to be successful. This may include small group instruction, individual instruction, and classroom collaboration.  Competence in high school level math, writing, science, and study skills is valuable.  If you have any questions please contact H.S. Vice Principal, Greg Wojczynski at wojczynskig@pceagles.org.

OSKALOOSA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is actively seeking applicants for a full-time 4th Grade teaching position.  Inquiries should be made to Principal Don Mitchell by email (mitchelld@oskaloosachristian.net) or phone 641-672-2174.  A faculty application form as well as other required documents can be found on our school’s website at www.oskaloosachristian.net.

PEORIA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL:  Thank you to everyone who has surrounded Peoria Christian School and community in prayer this past school year.  We appreciate and covet your prayers and support through this uncharted territory of schooling in home and maintaining physical distancing.  Continue to pray for the students and teachers as they now face the reality of finishing the school year at home.  Pray also for wisdom as we discern when and how to best have an 8th grade graduation ceremony.
