We wish a happy birthday to Tom De Vries who will celebrate his 93rd birthday on May 26 and pray for God’s continued blessings.

“Thank you to my Church family for your loving support during the loss of my husband.” – Debbie Nelson

We express our congratulations and best wishes to Carson Tukker and Alexis Vos who are graduating from 8th grade this year.  May the Lord richly bless each of you as you continue your education.

LIVE STREAM HELP WANTED:  The new Pella II Live Stream ministry needs volunteers.  If you are interested in helping and are willing to be trained in technical aspects of this ministry, please contact Jason Van Hal (jsnvnhl@gmail.com).

OFFERING:  The deacons would like to express our gratitude to the congregation for their continued support of the church during these difficult times.  Your generosity has been a blessing, especially as there are many great causes in need of funds in this time.  As we return to limited worship in person, we will again support outside causes as a reflection of the blessings we have received.

QR CodeOur offering today will go to “Pella Pine Rest”.  Our offering May 31 will go to “Bethany Christian Services”.   Loose change and undesignated checks go towards the mission or organization of the week.  If you desire to contribute to Second Christian Reformed Church and its ministries, simply write “Pella 2” on the memo line of your check. NEW LIFE PRISON CHURCH is looking for bicycle riders.  This year’s Pedal for Prisoners will be a virtual ride.  Want to participate?  Email PastorRick@newlife-prison.org

FROM THE LE MAHIEU FAMILY:   Dear Pella II,   We want to thank you deeply for your recent offering to support our family.  We know this is a challenging season for the entire world, and we are so grateful for your faithful support for us and our work with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  As you may know, we returned early to the U.S. due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  We were thankful to be able to travel safely and efficiently internationally.  Currently, we are staying in a Missionary House in Gibbsville, Wisconsin.  Doug is working remotely with some of his students in Papua New Guinea.  Our plan is to return to Papua New Guinea in January of 2021, Lord willing.  We are praying for all of you.  We know that some have lost jobs and that many businesses are suffering.  Thank you for continuing your worship services online; we are glad that we can keep up with you remotely.  May the good news of Jesus continue to change hearts. –

Doug and Benita Le Mahieu and family

FROM RYAN FABER:  There is not much new to report from my April letter. The lockdown and airport closures in Nigeria due to Covid-19 continue. We are still waiting for news from the consulate in NYC regarding our visas. The school is closed, but student research continues – including the students I am currently supervising.  God bless, Ryan

LAKE VIEW CAMPS have been canceled this summer.  Watch their Facebook page and website for opportunities and fun posts and activities.

AT-HOME FAITH FORMATION TIP – Although mealtime often serves as a reminder to pray, we can get into ruts about what to pray about.  Mealtime placemats like these downloadable versions from Flame Creative Children’s Ministry (tinyurl.com/FlamePlacemats) provide prompts for young children.  What might you include on a placemat for older children…or yourself?
