C4C meets this morning on 3rd floor. Children 3 years old-PreKindergarten will be dismissed during the service. Visitors are also welcome! Parents may pick up their child after the service. Today’s leaders are Clarissa Van Zee and Rob Schreur.
We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.
Church School will meet from 10:50-11:35 a.m.
At 6:00 p.m. First CRC and Second CRC will meet at First CRC. Pastor Dale Slings will continue the series on the Apostles’ Creed – I believe a holy catholic church, the communion of saints. The offering is for Hope Ministries.
NEXT SUNDAY: At 6:00 p.m. next Sunday First CRC, Second CRC and Faith CRC will meet at Faith CRC. Pastor Ryan Faber will continue the series on the Apostles’ Creed – the forgiveness of sins.

TUESDAY: The Pella Christian High Concert Choir will be one of eight choirs featured at this year’s Little Hawkeye Conference Choral Festival Concert on November 14. This year, Pella Community High School will host the choirs of the schools in our conference. A mass choir made up of all eight choirs from the Little Hawkeye Conference as well as the individual choirs will perform at the concert. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Come and support our high school musicians and enjoy an evening of fine choral music.
WEDNESDAY: Children’s Choir (1st-6th grade) rehearsal, 6:30-6:55 p.m. We will sing next Sunday, November 19!
GEMS will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited the annual Sully Cadet hog roast on November 15 at the Sully Christian School Gym. The cadets will be serving BBQ pork, pork patties, potato salad, chips, baked beans, pie and ice cream from 5:00-7:30. In addition, meat will be available for sale and donations are being accepted to process the hogs.
Dad’s Belgian Waffle Supper sponsored by Ignite will be November 15, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at First CRC, 815 N 11th St., Oskaloosa, serving all-you-can-eat malted Belgian waffles, nine flavors of syrup, whipped cream and butter toppings, sausages and drink. Dine in or carry-out boxes available. Free will donation to support Ignite’s (Youth Group) upcoming summer mission trip.
THURSDAY: The Let’s Remember scrapbooking small group will meet in the church basement, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information contact Julie at 628-1303.
EVAPORATED MILK CHALLENGE: The Pella Food Shelf is again making Thanksgiving Meal Boxes to give to local families. Pella II’s challenge this year is to bring 200 cans of evaporated milk for these boxes. This is the last day for collection.
FROM COUNCIL: Nominees for the office of elder for a 3-year term beginning in 2018 are Ron Branderhorst, Ryan Hoekstra, Calvin Roose, Steve Roose, Dave Stevenson and Bill Wilson. Nominees for the office of deacon for a 3-year term beginning in 2018 are Jamis Christensen, Corey Magnussen, Lance Nieuwsma, Steve Talsma, and Matt Vos. Three elders and two deacons will be selected by lot, and the budget for 2018 will be voted on at the annual congregational meeting on Monday, November 20, at 7:00 p.m. If anyone has objections to any nominees serving our church, contact any council member.
OUR VETERANS: As a congregation we join with our fellow citizens in honoring those who have served and are serving our country in the military. Many have served in time of war, and some have been wounded in combat. We
honor all of them for their service and sacrifice. They are as follows:

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: It’s that time of the year where we remember the greatest gift ever given and we pass on the love and joy of that gift to others! We’re letting our excitement team up with the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes again this year. This means sharing a little bit of what we have with kids that need it. A few suggested gifts for shoeboxes: Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, yo-yos, jump ropes, pens, markers, crayons, paper, coloring and picture books, writing pads, solar calculators, hard candy (double wrap), gum, t-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, etc. Do Not Include used or damaged items or war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures, chocolate or lotions / liquids. There are boxes downstairs or you can fill your own shoebox or small plastic container. Youth group will be going shopping this week so if you would like them to shop for you, please give your money to one of the high school kids or to Stephanie Roose by Wednesday. Please return your box to church by next Sunday, November 19.
THANKSGIVING FOOD OFFERING: Nonperishable food items will again be collected at our Thanksgiving Day service for Pella’s Food Shelf.

A FREE THANKSGIVING MEAL is available on November 23. The meal is served from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at First Reformed Church. You can carry out a meal or have it delivered. If you have any questions or would like a meal delivered call the church office at 628-3493.
POINSETTIA ORDERS: As is tradition, the PCHS Music Department will be selling poinsettias for this holiday season. Order forms are available from any PCHS band or choir student, in the school office, on the school website or on the table in our narthex. Five different colors are available at a cost of $13.00 per plant. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, November 21, and picked up on Monday, November 27, between 2:30 and 5:00 p.m.
Do your holiday baking the easy way at Oskaloosa Christian School, located at 726 North E Street, on Saturday, December 2, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Plates of goodies will include Decorated Sugar Christmas Cookies, Fudge, Divinity, Oreo Snow Balls, Peanut Butter Brittle and much more. Also, new to this year’s event is a vendors/crafters sale at the same time as the bake sale. Over 20 vendors will be available for your holiday shopping. Vendors/crafters include Attic Creations, Gold Canyon Candles, Lipsense, Pampered Chef, Refurbage, Signs by Shari, 3 J’s Soap and many more.
