MONDAY:  Perk Up will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Happy Joes.  All ladies are welcome.

All-church prayer meeting at the parsonage from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  We invite all to join us to pray for the ministries and outreach of our congregation.

THANKSGIVING DAY:  We will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday for our annual Thanksgiving Day worship service.  You will be encouraged to say what you are thankful for in a word, or one or two sentences. Our offering envelopes, which were mailed to you, and nonperishable food items for the Pella Food Shelf will be received at the front of the sanctuary.  There are extra envelopes and sheets explaining the causes on the table in the narthex for any guests who may desire to use them.

Christmas Caroling for All Ages:  Join us on Sunday, December 8, at 4:30 p.m. to go caroling, followed by pizza back at church, and cookie decorating for the kids.  Please sign up downstairs.

Our Christmas Candlelight Service will be held on Sunday, December 15, at 6:00 p.m.  Please join us for this special musical worship service.

FROM COUNCIL:  At the congregational meeting new council members selected to begin in 2020 are Governing Board Elders Darrell Boot and Jason Van Hal, Shepherding Elder Dave Stevenson and Deacons Stu Bokhoven and Jamis Christensen.  The council thanks all others who were nominated and willing to serve our church in this capacity.  The annual budget for 2020 was approved.

NAME CHANGE:  The Name Change Task Force would like to invite the congregation to prayerfully consider and submit name suggestions (and their reasoning, if desired) for consideration from now until DECEMBER 1st.  Suggestions can be submitted by email to bev@kcwnfm.org or jnyoder16@gmail.com, by placing in Bev DeVries or Jon Yoder’s church mailbox, or by speaking to any member of the team.  Suggestions can be signed or remain anonymous.

POINSETTIA SALES:  As is tradition, the PCHS Music Department is selling poinsettias for this holiday season.  Order forms are available from any PCHS band or choir student, in the school office, and on the school website.  Five different colors are available at a cost of $13.50 per plant.  Orders must be placed by Tuesday, November 26, and picked up at the school on Tuesday, December 3, between 2:30 and 5:00 p.m.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Cary Christian Center fish fry a success.  Some of you made desserts, helped serve, donated food items, cooked the fish and chicken and some of you came to eat and made a donation.  We appreciate your support!

ADVANCE NOTICES:

Do your holiday baking and Christmas shopping the easy way at the Oskaloosa Christian School Gym, at 726 North E Street in Oskaloosa, on Saturday, December 7, from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Your favorite Christmas goodies will be for sale, including our famous decorated cookies!  Many vendors and crafters will also be available to help you with your Christmas shopping.

The Pella Pro-Life Cookie Sale will be Thursday, December 12.  We’re looking for more volunteers to make cookies and/or decorate and box cookies on December 12.  If you are willing to help, please contact Jocelyn Meinders at jclynmndrs@gmail.com or 515-346-8016.  We appreciate your support!

CUSTODIANS NEEDED:  PCHS has an immediate opening for two custodians to share afternoon/evening custodial duties.  Work duties would include general daily cleaning and could include some event management.  Hours are afternoon and evening hours with some flexibility, depending on the school’s events schedule.  These positions would be ideal for a parent or retiree.  Please contact Principal Dan Van Kooten at 628-4440 or vankootend@pceagles.org.
