OFFERINGSOctober 18:  Bible League International; October 25:  Geneva Campus Ministries

TODAY:   Church School meets from 10:45-11:05 today.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathies to the family of Arietta De Graaf, who passed away on October 7.  May God comfort them with the hope of eternal life in Jesus our Lord.

We wish a happy birthday to Joann Verhey who will celebrate her 87th birthday on October 12, and to Arie Boot who will celebrate his 90th birthday on October 18, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

“I want to thank the congregation for their prayers, concerns and cards I received while in the hospital.” – Thressa Nieuwsma

We rejoice at the birth of a healthy girl, Olivia Lynn, born October 1 to Mason and Cayla Wichhart.  We thank God for this great gift!

MONDAY:  Our bi-monthly congregational prayer meeting is tomorrow, October 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Weather and construction permitting, we will meet on our new building site.  Bring your own lawn chair.  We will put our chairs on the slab in what will be our new worship center, sitting six feet apart.  If needed we’ll meet at our existing building in the fellowship hall.  An update will go out on One Call on Monday morning confirming where we’ll meet.

WEDNESDAY:  Cadets will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Adult Choir will practice 7:15-8:15 p.m. Please bring masks.  For more information, contact Barbara Boertje DeVries at worship@pella2crc.org.

FELLOWSHIP HALL: In view of the approaching fall and winter temperatures, the basement fellowship hall is now fully reopened, and available before, during and after worship services.  The areas previously closed off by the sliding doors are open to allow as much room as possible.  When in the fellowship hall, please maintain six feet social distancing between family groups.  Masks are welcome to be worn but are not required.  Also, the live stream will continue to be shown and this space remains available for anyone who needs to step away during the service.  –  Council

LIVE VIDEO: During this morning’s service a live video with audio of the service is projected on a large screen TV in the Fellowship Hall in the basement for parents or others who need to leave during the service.  Restrooms are available downstairs.  Our services are also live streamed and recorded each Sunday on YouTube, which can be found at bit.ly/Pella2.

THE BACKPACK PROGRAM provides nutritious food for the weekend for local students who are food insecure (may not know where their next meal is coming from) so that students can return to school on Monday ready to learn.  The committee is collecting donations from local churches to help cover the number of students who need this assistance.  Second CRC has been asked to donate single serve packages of oatmeal.  A collection box is located near the front entrance and donations will be accepted through October 25.  Please contact Katie Magnussen at kathrynmagnussen@gmail.com or 563-260-2190 with any questions.

PELLA CORPORATION MATCHING GIFTS:  Pella Corporation’s Rolscreen Foundation has approved our building project as a qualified matching gift program for employees and retirees!  Gifts given between June 9, 2020, and June 9, 2023, will be eligible.  Please contact Corey Magnussen for additional information.

OFFERING:  Our offering today will go to the “Missions Fund”.  Our offering October 18 will go to the “Bible League International”.   Undesignated cash or check offerings go towards the mission or organization of the QR Codeweek.  If you desire to contribute to Second Christian Reformed Church and its ministries, simply write “Pella 2” on the memo line of your check. You can also give online by scanning the QR code to the right or by going online to pella2crc.breezechms.com/give/online.

For those not in attendance for any reason, the below options will remain available:

  1. Online – By logging into Breeze and clicking “Give Now” any member can donate through ACH transfer or Credit/Debit Card.

Thank you again for your continued support. – Pella II Deacons
