C4C (Children for Christ) meets this morning on 3rd floor. Children 3 years old-PreK will be dismissed during the service.  Visitors are also welcome!  Parents may pick up their child after the service. Today’s leaders are April and Liam Nieuwsma.

We invite all visitors and all members of the congregation to a Fellowship Coffee downstairs immediately after the morning worship service.

Church School classes will meet from 10:50-11:35.

At 6:00 p.m. First CRC and Faith CRC will join us for worship at our church.  Pastor Ryan Faber will preach on John 10:11-18, I Am the Good Shepherd.

NEXT SUNDAY: At 6:00 p.m. there will be a joint Reformation Day Celebration including several CRC churches at First Christian Reformed Church.  Dr. Kyle Dieleman, Assistant Professor of History at Trinity Christian College, will be bringing God’s Word, and there will be music by a joint choir.  A nursery will be provided and someone will be available to help with their elevator.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY:  We extend our Christian sympathies to Sylvia Langstraat on the death of her son, Carl Vander Molen, on October 18.  May God comfort her and her family with the hope of eternal life in Jesus our Lord.

We wish a happy birthday to Kee Buitenwerf who will celebrate her 90th birthday on October 22, to Edith Van Zee who will celebrate her 88th birthday on October 23, and to Thressa Nieuwsma who will celebrate her 87th birthday on October 24, and pray for God’s continued blessings on each of them.

MONDAY:  Perk Up will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Happy Joes.  All ladies are welcome.

The Shepherding Elders will meet at 6:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: Kingdom Kids will meet from 5:30-6:50 p.m.

Children’s Choir (1st-6th graders) will meet from 6:30-6:55 p.m.

GEMS will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Cadets will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Adult Choir will meet from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Christmas Musical Rehearsal is 8:00-9:00 p.m.

THURSDAY:  The Let’s Remember scrapbooking small group will meet in the church basement, 6:30-9:30 p.m.  Everyone welcome to attend. For more information contact Julie at 628-1303.

SATURDAY:  Cat Fish fry at Faith CRC serving from 4:30-6:30 p.m.  There will also be chicken and all the trimmings.  Free will donation for Cary Christian Center.  There will be four people from the Cary Christian Center there to visit with.  If you are able to help at the Fish Fry they would appreciate four people to help serve at 5:30 and then help clean up.   Please sign up on the sheet downstairs or let Ruth know if you can help.

PCHS FALL MUSICAL:  PCHS’s theatre season opens with one of Broadway’s most popular musicals, Oklahoma!, to be performed this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 25-27, at 7:00 p.m. in the Vermeer Auditorium at PCHS.  Tickets sales continue in the school office, or call 628-4440.  Adult tickets are $10; $6 for children.  PCHS students attend free, but do need to reserve a seat at the school box office.

IT’S TIME TO FEED THE FISH!  Peter Fish will be handed out after the morning service today.  We will collect them on November 4, World Hunger Sunday.  The proceeds go to World Renew’s efforts to fight hunger everywhere.

C4C LEADER SIGN-UP:  There is a sign-up sheet downstairs for those that would like to lead or help with C4C throughout the year.  There is very little prep involved, and anyone, middle school age or older, is welcome to take a turn!

DESSERT WITH THE BRADFORDS:  We would like to invite our new church family to have coffee and dessert with us at the parsonage in order to get to know everyone better and to hear your hopes and dreams for Pella 2. There are several “Dessert with the Bradfords” gatherings scheduled this fall; note that two new dates have been added — Saturday morning, November 17, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and Thursday evening, December 13 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Middle School and High School youths are also welcome to join us. We have room for 12 adults and/or youths at each gathering.

October 22 is Pastor Paul and Tammy’s 35th wedding anniversary.

THANKSGIVING MEAL BOXES:  The Pella Food Shelf is again making Thanksgiving Meal Boxes to give to local families.  Pella II’s challenge this year is to bring 200 cans of peaches for these boxes by November 11.  Mission/Outreach challenges each household to participate by bringing cans of peaches.

THANK YOU:  The Cadets would like to thank everyone who came to the annual Pork Patty Supper!  You made it another successful year which will help fund a lot of different activities and projects.

SOUND OPERATORS (and anyone interested in being a part of this important ministry):  A free sound training event will be held at Third Reformed Church on Saturday, November 3, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Please contact Barbara Boertje DeVries by October 30 if you are interested in attending or would like more information.

PCHS PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES UPDATE:  Conferences will be held from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 22 (this is different than previously advertised) and from Noon-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25.  Teachers will be in their classrooms both dates due to the 7:00 p.m. volleyball tournament game the 22nd.  Parents:  please reference the email sent from school to sign up for conference slots.

VERMEER CHARITABLE FOUNDATION invites you to an evening with Dr. Kara Powell, executive director of Fuller Youth Institute and faculty member at Fuller Theo-logical Seminary. She will speak on the topic “Growing Young: Helping Young People Discover and Love the Church”. PCHS ANNUAL FINANCIAL DRIVE:  It is time for the Annual Financial Drive for the Pella Christian High School.  The purpose of this drive is to support the general fund of the school.  The goal for this year’s drive is $75,000.  We ask you to prayerfully consider a gift to the school.  A letter explaining the drive is in your mailbox today.  Thank you in advance for your faithful support of the mission of Pella Christian High.

PCGS OPENING:  Pella Christian Grade School has an immediate opening for a one-on-one teacher aide for 2018-19 school year.  The person in this position would provide services to a lower elementary student.  A current Iowa teaching certificate or paraeducator certificate is desired, but not required, for this opening.  Applicants should complete the application and sign the statement of faith.  Interested applicants can view the employment portion of our school website pellachristian.net or contact David Te Grotenhuis at tegrotenhuisd@pellachristian.net for more information.
