TODAY: Today at 10:00 a.m. we will have combined services with First CRC and Grace Fellowship at First Christian Reformed Church. Matt Rogers, the merger consultant will be preaching. The offering is for The Well.

Church School will not meet today.

Our Annual Church Picnic will be held today at Cordova Park.   Lunch will start at 12:30 p.m., followed by our worship service. Come and enjoy a meal already prepared for you along with praise and worship out in God’s creation!   If you would like to ride the church van to and from the picnic, please let a driver or council member know. Also, for those able to park a bit farther from the shelter house we would ask that you do so, leaving some of the closer spots for those who would really appreciate that convenience. Please bring your own chair to use during worship; dinnerware will be provided.

NEXT SUNDAY: Next Sunday will be Pastor Tom and Erin’s last Sunday with us. Please plan to attend our 9:30 a.m. service, as well as our 6:00 p.m. service of Music and Praise that evening, followed by a reception to honor them. Child care will be available at both services.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY: We wish a happy birthday to Anne Bokhoven who will celebrate her 85th birthday on September 18, and pray for God’s continued blessings.

MONDAY: Perk Up will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Happy Joes. All ladies are welcome.

A Joint Congregational Conversation to present and discuss the merge church proposal will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Pella II CRC.

The Pella Christian Grade School Board will meet at 7:00 p.m. on September 18.

The Pella Christian High Board will meet on September 18 at 7:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: No music rehearsals on Wednesday.

GEMS will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Cadets will meet from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

THURSDAY: Children’s Choir rehearsal, 6:30-7:00 p.m.

SATURDAY: A Joint Congregational Conversation to present and discuss the merge church proposal will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Pella II CRC.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: On Monday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m., a congregational meeting will be held in each church to vote on the merged church.

NEW FAMILY/ALUMNI FOOTBALL NIGHT: This is an invitation to all new families at PCHS and PCHS Alumni to attend the home football game against Mount Ayr this Friday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. ALUMNI: Sign in at one of the tables located by either entrance to receive a ticket for you and your spouse for free admission to the game. NEW FAMILIES: Will receive a letter of invitation from school and should sign in at one of the tables located by either entrance to receive tickets for free admission to the game for your entire family as well as two food vouchers for use at the concession stand. (Tickets and vouchers will be available until the end of the first quarter and are for use September 22 only.)

MH4H COLOR BLAST 2017: The MH4H Color Blast 5K is on again this Saturday, September 23, in Pella! Enjoy an amazing day of fun and color, while helping transform lives in Haiti! Run or walk with friends or family while getting blasted with colored powder. After the race there will be a photo booth, inflatables for the kids, music and free food. The race starts and ends at Trinity Reformed Church parking lot from 9:00 a.m.-12 noon. Tickets are $40, with children (12 and under) $15. Participants get a shirt and great grab bag full of goodies. The Bible League Fall Continental Breakfast will be held on Monday, October 9, at Grace Fellowship at 9:00 a.m. Bruce Van Dusseldorp will share with us his work in Uganda. Both men and women are welcome.

Hearthstone Soup Supper is Wednesday, October 11, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Fair Haven East’s Dining Room. Delicious homemade soups, loose meat sandwiches and Fair Haven East’s famous pies! Order whole pies or place a take-out order by calling 628-1244. All proceeds to support the Good Samaritan Program at Hearthstone in Pella.

SUB SANDWICHES: Peoria Christian School is selling sub sandwiches again this year. There are two types of sandwiches: Ham and Pella Bologna with Swiss and American cheese, or Ham and Turkey with Swiss and American cheese. Sandwiches are $3 each or $36 for 13. Orders are due Monday, September 18. Orders can be emailed to or or by calling the school (625-4131). Orders can be picked up at the school on September 29 after 4:00 p.m.
