Adult Choir will practice after Church School this morning until 11:45 a.m.

NEXT SUNDAY:  Church School classes will not meet on November 29.

MONDAY:  The all-church prayer meeting will be held online from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  We invite all to join us to pray for the ministries and outreach of our congregation, and to pray for our community and nation.  To join the prayer meeting, go online to: meet.google.com/dmw-nnnw-wgu.  You can also join by phone.  Dial 786-618-3414 and then enter the PIN: ‪191 317 325#.

THANKSGIVING DAY:  You are invited to meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday for our annual Thanksgiving Day worship service.  Our offering envelopes, which were mailed to you, can be placed in the offering plates in the narthex or, if you are not in attendance, you may mail them to the church or drop them off in the slot in the deacon’s door downstairs. There are extra envelopes and sheets explaining the listed causes in the narthex for any guests who may desire to use them.

Nonperishable food items for the Pella Food Shelf will also be collected on a table at the bottom of the steps inside the east entrance on Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING ENVELOPE NOTE:  We were informed last week that the With Love Toy Ministry will cease operations at the end of this year so, even though it is listed on your envelope, they are no longer in need of an offering.

CANDLELIGHT SERVICES:  Three identical candlelight services are being arranged in order to accommodate more attendees while maintaining social distancing guidelines.  The times are: Saturday, December 12 at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  A ticketing process will help guarantee seating.

A survey form has been sent out by email to reserve tickets.  If anyone did not receive a survey please contact Regina at 785-545-6226 or info@pella2crc.org.  For those without internet, a paper survey form has been sent to you.  Tickets for each service will be issued and given to attendees, taking into consideration responses to the survey.  A response to the survey is required in order to receive a ticket.  Tickets, which are free, will be required in order to be admitted to a candlelight service.  Thank you in advance for your flexibility as we work to accommodate as many attendees as feasible. – Governing Board

CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR MISSIONARIES:  It is the time of year to remember Pella II’s missionaries with Christmas cards. Collection boxes will be available at the foot of the east steps beginning next Sunday through December 13 for Joel & Jeannie Huyser, Doug & Benita Le Mahieu, Lloyd & Nancy Peckham and Justin Van Zee. No postage or envelopes are needed. Mission Outreach will handle the mailing.  Missionaries often tell us that they enjoy getting cards from Pella II.  Please show them your support with a card.

PELLA CORPORATION MATCHING GIFTS:  Pella Corporation’s Rolscreen Foundation has approved our building project as a qualified matching gift program for employees and retirees!  Gifts given between June 9, 2020, and June 9, 2023 will be eligible.  Please contact Corey Magnussen for additional information.

HYMN/SONG REQUESTS, ANYONE?  Even though “social distancing” has made it a challenge to stay connected, please be assured that you have not been forgotten!  Choir members and other musicians would be happy to serenade you with a hymn or song that’s meaningful to you, even if over the phone.  Contact Barbara Boertje DeVries with ideas, requests, and/or for encouragement!

LIVE VIDEO: During this morning’s service a live video with audio of the service is projected on a large screen TV in the Fellowship Hall in the basement for parents or others who need to leave during the service.  Restrooms are available downstairs.  Our services are also live streamed and recorded each Sunday on YouTube, bit.ly/Pella2.

OFFERING:  Our offering today will go to the “Crossroads of Pella”.  Our offering November 29 will go to  “Creation Station Christian Preschool”.   Undesignated cash or check offerings go towards the mission or QR Codeorganization of the week.  If you desire to contribute to Second Christian Reformed Church and its ministries, simply write “Pella 2” on the memo line of your check. CRC NEWS AND PRAYER ITEMS

GROUNDWORK:  Jesus Christ Restores – Have you ever wondered if you’re too broken or if you’ve sinned too much for Jesus to love you?  Study John 21 with Groundwork and witness an interaction between Jesus and Peter that gives us the hope and courage to love Jesus despite our failings.  Listen at GroundworkOnline.com

KIDS CORNER: Kids Showing Thankfulness – Have you read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day?  Picture your worst day ever and ask yourself, “Could I be thankful to God even during a day as bad as that?” Read this week’s devotions on thankfulness.  Listen at kidscorner.net

AT-HOME FAITH FORMATION TIP – The Practice of  Generosity:  We often associate generosity with financial giving, but we can also cultivate a generous spirit in our relationships.  Ponder how you might practice this in daily life, perhaps by focusing on refraining from mental criticism, attributing the best motives to people’s actions, being “present” and attentive when spending time with others (especially children), or doing acts of random kindness.

ADVENT DEVOTIONAL SERIES FROM TODAY:  It’s been a rough year.  Let Advent help you see God’s story in Christmas.  This special devotional series takes you deeper into the true meaning of Christmas, the coming Savior.  Subscribe at todaydevotional.com/advent.  It’s free!
